Prompt #46 of the 2020 Reading Challenge

This week, I’m reading another one of the murder mysteries by my favorite author, Agatha Christie.

So, even though I’ve read so many of her books this year, the list doesn’t seem to be getting any smaller. I still have so many of her books left to read.๐Ÿ˜ฌ Anyways, this week I’m reading the following book:

Peril at End House by Agatha Christie.

It features our most favourite Hercule Poirot. He is on a holiday but is alarmed when a resident there, informs him of her ‘accidents’. Even though Poirot claims he has retired, he cannot stop himself from helping the girl. This is going to be interesting !

About the book I read last week, The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern:

A magical world beneath our world. A world full of books and stories. You can find doors to it if you really believe in it. A fantasy world, every reader would love to live in.

Zachary Ezra Rawlins finds a book in his university library that tells his story. A story about a fortune teller’s son who found a door at a young age but didn’t open it. After reading the book, he realizes that the door was real, the place is real. So he sets out to discover. Thus begins an adventure as he meets fate and love and also, reaches the place – the harbor to the starless sea. But nothing is as he expected.

The book is not written in a simple straightforward story. It’s divided in a lot of parts, some telling us about the past stories of other people, some excerpts of books within the book, a lot of fairy tales, many interludes (time lapses) etc. It’s all a bit confusing and hard to keep track of while reading. But in the end, all of it comes together. Almost. I wanted for a few more things to happen at the end, but they didn’t, which was disappointing.

Not a book for the early fantasy readers, only pick it up if you like a complex way of telling stories.

What are you reading currently ?

Tell me about it.
