Prompt #3 of the 2020 reading challenge

The prompt I’ve selected for the third week is from the advanced section of the Popsugar reading challenge 2020 : A book by an author who has written more than 20 books.

Firstly, about the book I read for the last prompt : The Big Four by Agatha Christie. She is my go-to author for a nice murder mystery and surely, this book didn’t disappoint. In the book, each chapter presented a different type of mystery case and so, now I’m unable to decide on which box to cross off in my Murder Mystery Bingo Challenge.

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to read at least five murder mysteries and then cross off all the five boxes at once. This shall ensure my completing a bingo. πŸ˜‰ Does this count as cheating though?

Now for this week, it’s a fairly easy prompt because you can choose any book by any author (given, the author has written more than 20 books). I’ll be reading this :

The Racketeer by John Grisham

I haven’t yet read any book by John Grisham and as this book lay in my pile of to be read books, it was an easy selection.

It’s a legal thriller and I’m really excited to read this book as the reviews which I’ve read sounded great. Also, thriller is one of my favourite genres, so I’m sure I will enjoy it.

If you would like any pointers about which book to choose, you could visit the listopia from the goodreads page. It helps you with all the prompts of the Popsugar reading challenge, so you can select a book from a wide list of recommendations. This works when you have no books to read.

But when you have a whole shelf of To Be Read books, I’d recommend my way of selecting prompts and books accordingly. What I do is I make a list of all the books on my TBR and then refer the goodreads list to see which books can be fit in with which prompt. Generally, this works. Sometimes, the categories are so diverse that I have to add more new books to my TBR.

I hope this helps.

Happy Reading !
