This week’s prompt selected from the 2020 Popsugar Reading Challenge is the following:
Your Favourite Prompt from a past Popsugar Reading Challenge.
So, this prompt gives way to a lot of options. It was hard trying to select a particular favorite, but in the end I decided to go with the following prompt taken from last year’s reading challenge.
A book about travel.
I love traveling. Since the COVID pandemic, that has become impossible, so reading a book on travel is the next best option for me. I looked at a lot of travel books and finally decided to read this book :
Around the World in 80 Trains by Monisha Rajesh.

I love to travel, I love trains, so naturally, this book attracted me at once. The beautiful cover, the idea of traveling the whole world in trains, I couldn’t resist reading this. It fits the prompt so perfectly ! Also, it contains pictures too.
About the book I read last week, Death in the clouds by Agatha Christie.
It’s hard giving anything less than four stars to Agatha Christie ! This story was just as brilliant and engaging as any other I’ve read till now. The plot is the easiest to explain:
- A lady is murdered during a flight journey with a blowpipe and a dart.
- One of the other passengers is the murderer.
- Though Hercule Poirot was in the same flight, he was asleep due to air sickness.
So, the detection begins. Hercule Poirot is just as mysterious in his ways, although he does take a bit of assistance from others this time. A particular highlight of this book for me, a funny incident at the inquest where Poirot was pronounced guilty by the jury.
“What’s all this?” The coroner frowned. “Nonsense. I can’t accept this verdict.”

Poirot turned into a match maker too. He is kind and suggestive to the other characters. The ending was astonishing. I did not see it coming at all !
