Prompt #28 of the 2020 Reading Challenge

This week’s prompt selected from the 2020 Popsugar Reading Challenge is the following:

A book that won an award in 2019.

So, for this prompt I’ve selected the following book to read :

The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson.

Apparently this book won the Chicago Public Library Best of the Best Books 2019. Also, it was featured in a lot of nominations. This may not be the apt choice for this prompt, I know, but I really wanted to read this novel ever since I’d read the first book of this series.

So, about the week I read last week, Just After Sunset by Stephen King. Only after starting to read, I realised that this was a collection of short stories. I am a huge fan of Stephen King but somehow, I wasn’t much excited about the short stories. There are a total of 13 stories:
Some are supernatural based, after life experiences. Some are about ghosts. Some are just about weird experiences like a guy facing a domestic violence scene in a public toilet, or like the last story where the character survives a death trap.I liked a few and others seemed a little far fetched. Mostly, I liked the Sunset Notes where the author explains how each story came to be, how it was thought of.
Not the best Stephen King book I’ve read, so if you’re reading his books for the first time, I would not recommend starting with this one. For others, who are already familiar with and love his books, you can give it a try!

What are you reading currently ?

Tell me about it.
