I’ve selected the following prompt for this week from the 2020 Popsugar Reading Challenge:
A book you meant to read in 2019.
After seeing this prompt, I thought, well, it is fairly easy. Ha! I have a whole shelf of TBR books that could fit this prompt. But that was when the dilemma began. It was really confusing to finally decide on a book for this week.
I just went with the most different one. Not a genre I love, not an author I prefer. Just something completely unusual and finally took out this book to read :
The Wanderers by Sarthak Rathi.

Sarthak Rathi, the author is just 12 years old. I was surprised and just amazed. I have no other reason than that to have this book on my TBR. The synopsis of the book is quite short and actually, the book is just 192 pages long. So, I have no idea what the story is about. But that makes the book much more interesting !
Now, about the book I read last week, Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson.
I loved everything about this book the moment I read the synopsis and that hasn’t changed even after completing it. An amazing school in the mountains, a billionaire, a group of brilliant students and riddles. What else could I ask for in a mystery? Also, all the references to Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie. Definitely a bonus.
So the story goes on two-fold, a past kidnapping of the wife and only child of the billionaire and a current mystery, in which a student is found dead. The sync is perfect and I was left thinking about the link in it all, Truly, Devious. But I was naive in thinking that the mysteries would be solved completely to only realize it when the book ended and I was left with more clues. Of course, the story continues in the next book. So I only have to say that, have the next book handy when you are reading this book because you wouldn’t be able to sleep otherwise.
A definite recommendation for anyone who has ever dreamed of finding a body in the library.(This was the dedication by the author in the book)
