Prompt #7 of the 2020 Reading Challenge

The prompt for this week is from the 2020 Popsugar Reading Challenge:

A Book with a great first line.

Now this prompt is a matter of which first line seems to interests you the most. I looked at a number of books and their first lines on the goodreads page (I’ve given the link here, if you’d like to refer it too) before finally deciding on the book.

So, this week I am reading the following:

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

This book is a science fiction/distopian fiction novel, a world where books are burned because they are outlawed. It’s a classic novel originally published in 1953. I’ve been meaning to read it for quite some time and now, I got the opportunity finally.

It was a pleasure to burn.

– Ray Bradbury.

That is the first line of the book and it intrigued me the most. I cannot imagine living in a world where books aren’t allowed and so, I thought this would be a very interesting read. Also, I’ve been reading quite a lot of thrillers, so this would be a change too.

About the book I had read last week (Along came a spider by James Patterson), you can read my review on goodreads by clicking here.

Have you read the book ? I hope you are enjoying the prompts as much as I am. Happy Reading ! πŸ˜€

What are you reading currently ?

Tell me about it.
